Rockingham Shopping Centre is proud to announce the launch of their Youth Community Project.
To launch the project, Rockingham Shopping Centre is giving local students the opportunity to paint their own individual design on a unique canvas.
Kicking off on Thursday 22 July, each student will be allocated a pylon in the Centre’s basement car park with a number and colour theme and the rest is up to their imagination.
Guided by West Australian artist, Drew Turner, the students will spend every Thursday night during the July school holidays and beyond designing and painting their pylon.
Friends, families and shoppers are invited to watch these talented students in action on Thursday nights from 4pm – 7pm.
Pictures of their work in progress will also be posted on the Youth Project Facebook page giving the public a chance to comment on their favourite designs.
The Rockingham Shopping Centre Youth Community Project aims to provide interesting and unique opportunities for local youth to get involved in community events.
The initiative will be run by a Youth Committee with plans to hold competitions and events at Rockingham Shopping Centre every school holidays.
If you would like to be involved in the Underground Carpark Project, sumbit the Entry Form and an example of your artwork to the Centre! Complete details on entry are outlined in the form.
